Textual Analysis

Mix Mag-

Front cover-
Mix mag is aimed at (target market) old teenagers who are interested in DJ/club. There is only 2 pictures on the front cover with one of them a mid-shot, this is the main picture of David Guetta, underneath his face there is a pun "Guetta load of this!" with the colour of the text contrasting to his clothes to stand out. The colour of text is yellow and white, the yellow can be compared to being neon which resembles club. The feature of there being a free mix CD make you want to buy the magazine more attracted you to it. With the background being very basic it makes everything else stand out. The features in the corner want to make you read the magazine as you may like the featured artists. The word "FEATURING" stands out as its bold and in capital letters. The spiky bubble text box stands out, they have made this stand out to show its the last one this year. Certain words are highlighted to show the importance of them .

Contents page-
The contents page has a black background so all the words can stand out a the wodrs are mainly in white. It has the date at the top of the page to show which magazine it is. The page numbers are in different colours to stand out as you need to know the page number to find pages quickly. The main parts of each page are bold to stand out and catch your eye. There is a main picture on the contents page of a girl clubbing this is for "last minute guide to the best NYE parties" the mise-en-scene for this picture connects to the contents of the page being advertised at she is wearing a "I love NY NY" top. There is a strapline along the bottoms advertising the free CD you get and the track numbers. The contents page for this is very basic with not to much this can give you the modern look. There are to contents pages but i have focused on the 1st one. The 2nd page there is a photo of the front cover this is very common with contents pages, i will choose to do this in my contents as well.
